HIKING WEEKEND
IN BEAUTIFUL ZUG COUNTRY SIDE
With a lot of joy and commitment, the Zug Hiking Trails Association organizes a variety of hikes. The goal is to accompany you on interesting hiking routes, to tell exciting stories and to experience unforgettable hours together.
The canton of Zug offers 556 km of signposted and well-preserved hiking trails.
For example, you can reach the highest point in the canton of Zug on one of these mountain hiking trails - the Wildspitz on the 1,579 meter high Rossberg or on a leisurely walk from Hünenberg to Mühlau the Reussspitz, where at 388 m above sea level, it is the lowest point of the canton.
Let yourself be seized by the wanderlust and discover the canton of Zug through the numerous walking paths.

Snowshoe hike Seebodenalp
This snowshoe hike starts at the Seebodenalp mountain station and is also suitable for beginners. The route takes us on a circular tour at 1000 metres above sea level across the sunny terrace of the Rigi above Küssnacht in the canton of Schwyz. We first tackle the gentle ascent towards Holderen to Stock and on to Ruodisegg. At the alpine inn, we enjoy a refreshment stop and, if the weather is sunny, a magnificent panoramic view over Lake Lucerne before making our way back to the Seebodenalp aerial cableway.

From paradise to hell
We hike in Baar on a direct route from paradise to hell. We return to Paradise via Edlibach Neuheim. On the way, we talk about hiking, orientation and safety.

Hiking night
We start our hiking night on the Raten in the afternoon. From there, we take the panoramic trail over the Ägerital to Muetegg, where we reach the highest point. We leave the panoramic trail at Mangelhöhe and walk via Bruusthöchi and Sätteli to the chapel at Fürschwand. We take a break on the way and enjoy the marvellous view of the Aegeri valley. A short time later we reach the Gubel with the Maria Hilf monastery, where we take a longer break and hope for a marvellous sunset. With the remaining light, we hike on to Edlibach. We round off the hike at the Edlibacherhof restaurant.

From millet to beer - the culinary hike
After a short visit to the Etter distillery, where a whisky is distilled using regional millet, we make our way to Cham. Here we follow the Lorzenuferweg via the Städtlerwald forest, past the Biberseeli, the only inland waterway in the municipality of Cham. On the way, we come across farmer Peter Werder's millet field. His millet is used in the Baar brewery to brew a light, drinkable beer with a sweet, malty flavour. Here we learn more about the millet culture, the history of the Cham millet and the beer. We then walk on to Steinhausen and refine our beer knowledge in the Braui Markt of the Baar brewery.
